Abstract
The problem of optimizing periodically loaded rod systems is considered. The structure of iterative optimization process for rod systems is developed using various decomposition procedures. The results analyzing the problem of weight optimization of a harmoniously loaded three-span beam with and without using the directed generalization of variable design parameters are compared.
