A criterion of durability (long-term durability) is formulated, which is a generalization of all the known criteria where the equivalent stress is a first-order stress-homogeneous function. Its geometrical interpretation is considered in the case of a complex stressed state and for the case of a plane stressed state. Using the formulated criterion, the problem of limiting balance of the bodies with the material under creep conditions, both for the plane strained state and plane stressed state, is solved.
