Currently, documents are appearing in the legal field that approve the mission of the territory, public authorities, both at the federal and regional levels. This article examines the nature, content, and legal regulation of missions in public authorities. Examples of missions are given. Missions are considered as the most important element of the formation of the corporate culture of the authority. The author attempts to formulate a "typical" mission of the legislative authority of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation.
