The article is devoted to the formation of methodological aррroaches to the study of the scientific problem of the identity of Russian civil proceedings. The article critically analyzes the very concept of the identity of civil proceedings and offers its own vision of the study of this legal phenomenon. As the basic methodological principles of the study, a combination of classical (general scientific and specific scientific) and interdisciplinary methods is proposed to overcome reductionism in the analysis of procedural uniqueness. Special attention is paid to the study of chronodiscreteness in the genesis and evolution of civil proceedings in the context of identity. The main result is an original model of the methodology of scientific cognition, tested on the materials of the practice of the Russian civil process.
