Abstract
The article raises the problem of determining the significance of royal proclamations as a means of political propa ganda during the dynastic struggle of the Yorks and Lancasters, which was called the Wars of the Roses in historiog raphy. Proclamations are decrees and addresses of the king to his subjects. The purpose of the work is to determine the place of the proclamation as a tool of propaganda and influence on public opinion in the era of the Wars of the Roses. The content of the sources reflects various propaganda techniques, with the help of which the kings, as direct partici pants in the events, tried to explain the legitimacy of the power of the corresponding dynasty and show rivals exclusive ly from the negative side.
