| The article examines the demographic features of the evolution of service land ownership in three Upper Volga districts in the 1660s – 1670s. The starting point in the study was a set of fairy tales, containing detailed information about family composition and service, submitted by serving people in 1661. Later, the descendants of the nobles of 1661 were searched in the census books of 1678. The study of data from 1661/1678 makes it possible to link the demographic characteristics of the studied group of military personnel with the nature of their land ownership. The results of the work demonstrate one of the possible directions in the development of service land ownership in the second half of the 17th century. |
