| The article is devoted to the materials of the book «Yakut cinema. The path of self-determination» (editor-compiler V. Kocharyan, 2024) in which the results of self-reflection of the Yakut creative intelligentsia are expressed. The published texts are valuable primary sources for studying the mindset of the intellectual elite, which recognizes itself as an active part of the national community and understands its role in the modern identity process. They present how directors, screenwriters, producers and others involved in the study of Yakut culture understand socio-political and ideological transformations that began in the 1990s and led to the emergence of the «phenomenon of Yakut cinema» not as an outstanding and / or exotic trend in Russian cinema in recent years, but above all as a visible expression of collective national self-determination that lasted for thirty-five years. |
