| The article is devoted to the study of verbal representations of the metaphorical model «space-container» in German engineering discourse. Using the method of metaphorical modeling, which involves the contextual, definitional and component analysis, as well as the method of cognitive interpretation, the article reveals the regularities of realization and verbalization of scientific abstractions. The study of language fragments showed the productivity of the considered metaphorical model, due to the human need to impose conventional limits on invisible objects: lines and frames, one-dimensional and multidimensional geometric images that contribute to the structuring of the experience. |
