| The study addresses the issue of conveying an author’s message in intersemiotic translation of a literary text. The purpose is to define the linguistic and non-linguistic means used for the recoding of the author’s message. The study is based on such scientific methods as contextual analysis, comparative analysis and the method of linguistic observation and description. The paper aims to compare two texts - the original novel and its screen version as the outcome of in-tersemiotic translation. The findings are as follows: the basic strategies used in the screen version for conveying the au-thor’s message are defined, the problems and drawbacks are outlined, the factors resulting in the loss or compensation of original ideas are listed. |
