Abstract
According to the new federal school education standards, the teaching process must be aimed at forming the necessary experience and skills for further education and research, which requires a diagnostic tool to be developed for evaluating the success of school education. This article focuses on the objects of diagnostic, the levels of research skills and their criteria. We also propose some forms, methods and means, which may be used for ongoing and summative evaluation of the students’ research skills.
