The article discusses the program of development of student’s personal autonomy and responsibility. We prove the relevance of the research of these characteristics and the significance of their development for the formation of a mature personality. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained in the course of the empirical research and literary sources on this subject, we provide a substantiation for the content of the development program and the criteria for its practical part. The goal of such developing programs and their main objectives are stated, as well as the levels of the student's personality that are the object of the developing activities.
