The article explores the evaluation of the performance of state (municipal) institutions in the field of education. The authors have developed a method for evaluating the performance of general education schools by a variety of criteria that characterize the quality of planning, balance and effectiveness of budget allocations. The proposed method for evaluating the efficiency of budget spending on education contributes to the successful implementation of the government financial policies aimed at the effective use of budget funds.
