In this article, we consider the relevance of creating a multicultural education system and fostering tolerance in a higher education institution in the context of modern globalization problems and international education integration. The role of international education projects in multicultural education and creating a safe educational environment for students’ mobility and self-realization is described. The author argues that it is necessary to study international experience in the organization of multicultural education at European universities through the use of special social-oriented programs. The TEMPUS project “ALLMEET” and its role in multicultural education and tolerance formation are presented.
